Francis lives with his twin brother and their mother under most primitive conditions in the hopeless Kibera slum in the south of Nairobi. The monthly income of his mother who survives with casual work is the equivalent of 50, – €.

Medical Problem:

A few weeks ago Francis started to have speech and hearing impairment. This is caused by massively enlarged adenoids and tonsils. Subsequently he also suffers from increased infections of the upper airways.

With the equivalent of 250,- € for Francis, the polyps can be surgically removed and his recurrent infections and sleepless nights belong to the past. But above all, his hearing ability will recover – the primary school is about to begin coming summer …
