Social Situation:

Since his father’s death during unrest in his district, one of Nairobi’s most dangerous, Jacob lives with his two younger sisters, and his single mother in a single room without water and electricity in the notorious Kibera slum in the south of Nairobi.

The monthly income is the equivalent of 60,- €.

Medical Problem:

Since three years Jacob suffers almost daily from generalized seizures in which he loses his consciousness. Jacob’s mother has not the money to consult a doctor for an accurate neurological diagnosis. His school performance is declining and he is teased by his classmates as “weirdo”. The teachers are helpless and considering him leaving school.
