Successful surgery on Climax

We do remember. As only child Climax lives with parents in the south of Nairobi/Kenya. His sole brother died from complications due to Malaria three years ago because his parents couldn’t afford an early treatment although his father works as watchman. Climax mother contributes a little to the meagre family income with daily laundry labour.

Climax suffers from Sickle cell disease. Sickle Cell disease is an inherited disorder in which red blood cells (RBC’s) are abnormally shaped and cause Anaemia, impaired immune system which can result in serious infections, chronic anaemia, and damage to body organs. Each person can have different forms of complications from the disorder. Some children remain relatively healthy, while others are frequently hospitalized.

In Climax case a chronic bone infection of the left lower arm developed. In order to cure him the necrotic bone has to be removed. The required orthopaedic surgery costs 300 Euro which is his parents cannot afford. Since Climax is their only child the family was very desperate. The immune deficiency required frequently antibiotic treatment which also was a major challenge to the insufficient monthly budget.

The parents hope to find a donor, who finance the long overdue operation became true. The private donation by one of the Tulisa founders made the required surgical intervention possible and Climax is freed from his pain. The necrotic bone was removed and the arm healed with antibiotic support well

Climax sends his grateful Thanks to you.
