Liberate Nshimirimana our patient from Burundi, who had to suffer from heavy hip joint damage over years, could be operated owing to your donations successfully in Nairobi.
On 01 June 2011 the first operation took place, with which the right hip joint was replaced by an endoprosthesis. The operation of the left side was accomplished after recovery phase and physiotherapeutic rehabilitation two weeks later.
For the time of her stay Mr. Daniel Mugasa was available as interpreters and accommodated Liberate after hospital dismissal at his home.
On 28 June 2011 Liberate returned to Burundi where she receives further physiotherapeutic treatment presently. At the airport she was cordially welcomed by her family, in particular by her 5 children, who could experience her mother now for the first time without using crutches and more mobile than ever before. All (on a long-term basis expensive!) pain medicines were in the meantime set off.
Cordial thanks for this example of fast and unbureaucratic assistance to all donors!
